summertime sadness

Doing my very best to soak up every day of summer we have left, even as I eagerly await the upcoming season of pumpkin flavored everything, sweaters, crunchy leaves, foggy mornings, toques, crisp air, and cozy nights.  I will miss long, warm summer evenings, tanned skin, sun dresses, and eating/making ice cream all the time.

But for now, I will savour each moment, and continue to listen to this song on repeat.

weekly wrap-up: photography projects and a milkshake

I won't lie... this past week has really been all about photography. It seems like all I've done is taken photoshoots and then spent hours upon hours editing wedding after wedding after engagement session after newborn session after more weddings... if it sounds like I'm a little tired of editing, it's cause I AM.

But I still love it!

But because it's driving me crazy, I indulged and had a milkshake. And it was awesome. And I could probably have milkshakes every day, if a) I could afford it financially and b) if my teeth weren't so sensitive!

Anyways, back to the point. This milkshake saved my life this week.

And now, here's some of the photography I've been editing, since I literally have nothing else to show for this week cause I've spent the majority of it cooped up in my office editing, or at work, or taking more photography sessions... sorry for repeating myself, but seriously! This was what my week looked like: finished up this adorable couple's engagement session..

Literally, JUST finished editing this unique couple's wedding!
Yesssssss - 1 down, only 3 more to go....

And then I had the awesome privilege of working with Chantilly Lace Designs again for her brand new launch of her kids line of hair accessories! We did a little victorian tea party with some precious little princesses, who despite these serious photos were SO ecstatic to be models!
And I could go on and on with sneak peeks from more photography projects... but that wouldn't be fair to my clients, so that's all! Have a great week, dear friends :)

outfit post: mint pants and plum trees

mint pants: stitches // top: dynamite // necklace: foreverxxi // ankle boots: winners // floral belt: wet seal

Let' just say that I'm still totally into the mint pants trend.  I don't even care if it's over or not...I'm so in love.

While I am looking forward to Fall, I really am savouring these last few days of Summer.  It seems we're in the awkward in-between seasons time right now, and the weather just can't seem to make up its mind.  I love the lightness and the soft summery colours of this outfit, and the pants give a little more coverage as the days get a little cooler.

I definitely swooned over this shirt when I saw it on the rack, and the little detail of the single mint button makes it even sweeter!

And I totally went all out on this top knot.  Yep, there are two braids and a bow involved as well.  Go big or go home, right?

These photos were taken by our plum trees!  I am so unbelievably blessed to live where I do, and I am going to miss our farm dearly when I (finally) move out!  But until then, get ready for many outfit posts taken in fields!

style post : red hot lips

So this isn't really much of an outfit post, since all of these photos are headshots.... but I just had to share this amazing mini portrait session I had with Kelsey when I was visiting her in BC. This girl is a true beauty - inside and out! I can't believe how blessed I am to have her in my life and she's probably my favourite subject to photograph.

Seriously.

This girl is drop. dead. gorgeous.

Wouldn't you agree?

diy : washi tape clothespin magnets

I saw this cute and simple DIY first at my dear friend's house while visiting, so I knew I just had to share it on the blog! As an avid lover of washi tape, this DIY is seriously wonderful.
What You Need:  washi tape, a glue gun, scissors clothespins, and magnet strips
Instructions:
1. Cut out your washi tape to fit your clothespins.
2. Tape on your strips of washi tape. Mix it up! I mixed up two different types of washi tape to make my clothespins more festive :)
3. Glue gun on your magentic strips to the back of your clothespins
4. Let dry, then enjoy your new fridge magnets!
Aren't they lovely? I left some without magnets to use as well and I just love how this simple DIY really brightens up my fridge and my photo wall! Enjoy :)
