wanderlust: long island, new york

Oh wanderlust... I adore that you led me to the beautiful beaches of Long Island, New York, and yet I hate that I'm never sated and I'm always longing for another adventure as soon as my feet are on home soil. Although my love of travel and adventure often has me feeling restless, on the beaches of Long Island, New York, all I felt was peace and stillness.

Miles and miles of glorious, white, sandy beach, protected and preserved by the state.
Who knew that such peace could be found in New York, of all places?
The stark contrast to Manhattan was stunning - that such natural beauty could exist next to such a thriving metropolis seemed contradictory and out of place, and yet, these photos don't lie.

I present to you, part one of my New York adventures...

reunion in the cold cold north!

Belated birthday celebrations. Baked goods. Harry Potter. Food. More food. And then some more food with smoothies thrown in. Beautiful music. Late night talks. Hugs galore. Giggles that made our stomachs hurt. Cameras snapping. Braving cold weather. Red capes.

This about sums up Kelsey's visit to the cold cold north, called Edmonton, and our amazing reunion :) And just for you lovely people, I've included a sneak peek of our upcoming Little Red inspiration shoot at the very bottom of this post... I hope these photos make you as happy as they make me!

And last but not least, a sneak peek of what's coming to the blog soon!
You know you want to leave some love and comment on how ridiculously stunning Kels is... so go on, do it. Leave her some love =)

a weekend in jasper.

I am in love with the mountains and although Edmonton is a little far away from them... I do love that we're still in driving distance of our gorgeous Canadian Rockies. They're definitely one of my favourite places in this world and I'm always amazed by the wildlife I encounter too - there is nothing more humbling to me than being in God's gorgeous creation.
