I use a nikon 35mm 1.8 lens for nearly all my food posts, which is super affordable, and just plain amazing! natural light is your best friend! and most importantly, practice, practice practice!! the joy of digital cameras is being able to take a million photos at no cost ;) I find it helpful to take photos from all sorts of angles and distances to see what looks best. good luck!!
