  6. I have a ton of fresh mint growing in my backyard. Any thoughts on how to incorporate it into the ice cream instead of using the mint extract?

    1. oh yum! that would be delicious. I've read a few recipes that use 2-3 cups of fresh mint leaves, chop them up finely, and place them and the milk in a saucepan to heat (but not boil). once it's hot, you remove from heat and let it infuse for an hour or so, and then you can continue with the recipe as is. let us know if you give it a go!
